The first of the St Trinians was a real hit when it first appeared in 1954 thanks in no small part to it’s brilliant central double performance from Alastair Sim as headmistress Millicent Fritton and her conniving brother Clarence. George Cole also stands out as school wideboy Flash Harry. Not to mention the girls themselves who run amok throughout the whole school in fine style bringing Ronald Searle’s marvellous drawings to vivid life.

The plot sees the naughty schoolgirls teaming up with Flash Harry to try and steal a racehorse.
